An open letter from Andong N’kobena:
Here is the video from our flashmob. To say it was a complete success is an understatement. We inspired many onlookers and brought joy in the hearts. Bystanders wanted an encore performance, so we decided to continue dancing in the streets of downtown Silver Spring for 4hrs. There, we displayed traditional dances from Ethiopia, Rwanda, and Cameroon as well as many contemporary African dances such as coupe, ndombolo and azonto.
We want to thank everyone that actively participated in the flashmob and all those that supported this movement. People are still talking about this event, and of course they can’t wait to see another flashmob!! For those who couldn’t make it this time, we hope you will participate in the next flashmob!!!
